KPK Capital Enters the EV Era
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is at the early stages of its EV charging journey. PSO and select private operators have established initial charging points in Cantt and University Road areas. As KPK's largest city and the gateway to the northern regions, Peshawar is positioned to become a critical node for EV travel between the Punjab motorway network and KPK's expanding road infrastructure.
Peshawar marks the end of the M-1 motorway from Islamabad (155km). Top up in Islamabad before departing — most modern EVs complete the run on a single charge. PSO Cantt is the recommended arrival charger.
The Peshawar Cantonment area has the most developed EV charging points in the city. University Road is also seeing new installations near commercial centres.
DC fast charging options in Peshawar are limited. Budget extra time for AC charging (1–3 hours) if arriving with a depleted battery. Overnight hotel charging is a practical option.
